Trauma leaves a profound mark, shaping how you see yourself, others, and the world. Whether it stems from childhood neglect, emotional of physical abuse, sexual violence or experiences like an accident, witnessing an act of violence, surviving a natural disaster, or being present for a distressing or life-threatening event, trauma can make you feel unsafe, powerless, or disconnected from who you truly are.
It often leads to deep-seated beliefs - I’m not safe. I’m out of control. It was my fault. I’m not good enough. These beliefs, hidden beneath layers of self protection, can can manifest as isolation, distrust, controlling behaviors, or emotional numbness.
Healing from trauma is not about erasing the past. It’s about reclaiming your power and integrating what happened in a way that allows you to move forward - free from the grip of fear, flashbacks, or overwhelming emotions. This takes immense courage. Facing the pain, the memories, and the emotions that once felt unbearable is an act of strength. And you don’t have to do it alone.
In our work together, I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) - a research-backed approach that helps your brain reprocess traumatic memories so they no longer hold the same emotional charge. EMDR allows you to release the weight of trauma, replacing old, limiting beliefs with new truths that empower you.
Therapy offers you a space to be heard - fully and without judgment. It’s a place to gently uncover the defenses that once protected you, but now keep you stuck. Beneath those defenses is your true self - the part of you that is whole, resilient, and capable of joy.
Healing is possible. Freedom is possible. And you don’t have to walk this path alone. When you’re ready, I’m here to help you take the next step.
